Great Sports

Taking advantage of the largest metropolitan cable network in the world and the next generation broadcasting network (NGB), Great Sports covers an audience of over 100 million in Shanghai and the cluster of cities in the Yangtze River Delta (Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces). The channel has taken the lead in China in completing the transformation into a high-definition producing, editing and broadcasting system.  The six high-definition studios covering 1,500 square meters are capable of simultaneously producing or live broadcasting news and sporting events.

The channel is broadcast around the clock, with sporting events, news and columns contributing 60%, 20% and 20% respectively. Live broadcasts of sporting events amount to 242 sessions at maximum monthly. The ten weekly choicest columns are broadcast for as long as 990 minutes. Three news columns are broadcast live on the hour every day.

Great Sports advocates healthy lifestyle, closely follows major sporting events, and spreads the spirit of sports. A number of excellent programs have been well received by the audience. It has always been a top performer in viewership rating among terrestrial TV channels in Shanghai.
