ECTV (also known as Ecuador TV) started its live broadcast on 24 October 2007. The channel was founded thanks to a 5 million USD funding from the Venezuelan government through the Economic and Social Development Bank of Venezuela.
It is owned and run by the public national broadcaster Television y Radio de Ecuador. The broadcasts are dedicated to education and culture. Its schedule consists mostly of news, documentaries, series, movies, entertainment and various informative programs. It also features sessions of the Assembly of the country.
