Hzutv was set up in February 2017 to provide Chinese TV programs of high quality to Chinese people all over the world with the aim of "bringing closer the distance between the Chinese people in the world through Chinese culture."
The predecessor of Hzutv is Hong Kong Information Satellite Television Group Co., Ltd., located at 33 Mong Kok Road, Kowloon, Hong Kong. It is the second comprehensive Chinese media based on international news after the establishment of Hong Kong Phoenix Satellite TV in 1996. On May 26, 2017, after being approved by the Hong Kong Government, Hong Kong Information Satellite TV was officially renamed as "Chinese Satellite TV" and sent to Asia-Pacific, Europe and America through live broadcasting platforms such as Asia-Pacific Satellite 5, EUROBIRD satellite and American satellite, More than 150 countries and regions in Latin America and Africa transmit satellite signals.
