Radio Télévision Gabonaise (RTG) is the national broadcaster of the Central African state of Gabon. Radio Télévision Gabonaise is headquartered in Gabon's capital city, Libreville.
Broadcasting-Television Gabon, the television channel RTG, of general format, was born in May 1963, under the action of President Léon Mba, who wanted to equip his country with modern means of communication1. Its mission is "Inform, educate and entertain." The first broadcasts begin on the evening of 9 May at 9: 30 p.m. with a series of speeches by technical and political leaders (speech by Robert Pontillon, Director of the Radiophonic Cooperation Office, Raymond Triboulet, French Minister for Cooperation and Léon Mba, President of the Gabonese Republic), followed by a first television journal1.
